UP Concert Chorus in Tampa

The Bayanihan Arts and Events Center was proud to present the UP Concert Chorus in Tampa, Florida on July 8, 2016 as they presented “Chorus and Laughter” with premier Filipino comedienne, Nanette Inventor.

The University of the Philippines Concert Chorus, also known as “Korus”, was on a tour of the Americas (US, Canada, Colombia and Ecuador). The UP Concert Chorus was conducted by Jai Sabas Aracama. During the week’s stay in Tampa, the group also performed at Disney Springs in Orlando. They also sang at the masses at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in West Tampa and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Ybor City.

Nanette Inventor, who is a UP Concert Chorus alumnus herself, is a singer, actress and comedienne.  From chorus member to professional back-up singer in “The Filipina”, she also established herself as a radio and television commercial artist and eventually became popular as “Doña Maria Leonila Evaporada Casinday Viuda de Ford” otherwise known as “Doña Buding”.
